With the holiday season fully underway, here is a message that's foundationally true not just now but also every single day of the year.
It's vitally important to find -- and then maintain -- your personal balance, whatever that may be. We've spoken before about creating what's known as a "personal practice" -- be that meditation, qi gong, T'ai chi, yoga -- something that you can do daily that resets your own internal rythym and reminds you that you have substantial ability to affect your own mood, energy level, and emotional health.
Here's one thing we'd highly recommend be part of that, an attitude that is sadly missing from many people's lives, and also lacking expression in many others. It's a simple word that holds a universe of emotional health within it, and that simple word is GRATITUDE.
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow." -- Melody Beattie.
