Another article you might have missed from last summer, available online now through "Health on the Net Foundation" (a reputable source, we might add, for those who wouldn't otherwise know; they're endorsed by the United Nations and the World Health Organization), talks about recent medical research into the effects of trauma on the brain. The article is entitled, "Brain Region May Govern Resilience to Trauma," and subtitled, "Study could explain why some people react severely to emotional stress." The article, which is mercifully short, for those whose attention span is short where science is concerned, talks about how people respond differently to fear, and process memories differently as well -- and science has been looking into why that is, and what can be done to improve physiological functioning, where trauma is concerned. Very interesting article, and worth reading to keep up to date on where medical research is going with this all-important topic.
